We are the largest natural gas-fired thermal power complex in Latin America,
with 3 GW of installed capacity located at the Port of Açu (RJ) - enough to
supply 14 million households.
With two combined-cycle natural gas power plants in operation, interconnected by
an LNG terminal - the only privately operated one in Southeast Brazil – we serve
as a strategic player for Brazil’s energy security and a driving force in the
transformation of the gas and energy sectors, integrating infrastructure,
innovation, and sustainability.
Born from a joint venture between global leaders — Prumo Logística, bp, Siemens
Energy, Siemens AG, and SPIC Brasil — we combine experience, infrastructure, and
strategic location to develop projects that drive national growth and support
the country’s energy transition.
We have an additional licensed capacity of 3.4 GW, which will allow our complex
to expand to up to 6.4 GW of installed power. Our plans also include building
pipelines connecting our generation complex to the national gas transportation
network, as well as the construction of Brazil’s first onshore LNG storage
terminal, consolidating GNA as the country’s main Gas and Energy Hub.
Growth with Responsibility
We operate with ethics, socio-environmental responsibility, and a focus on the
safety of everyone involved in our activities.
During the construction of the GNA I and GNA II power plants, over 22,000 jobs
were created, prioritizing the hiring of local labor and recording more than 45
million man-hours worked without any lost-time accidents. To achieve this, we
invested in professional training programs aimed at local communities and
suppliers, promoting job and income generation and leaving a legacy of
development in the region.
With courage, innovation, and commitment, we continue to contribute to building
a safer, more sustainable, and fairer future for the Brazilian energy sector.
